A woman at the grocery store the other day paid for her food with a food stamp card then paid CASH for her beer, wine and cigarettes, and dorve off in an Escalade what's wrong with this picture ??? Submitted by Fed Up
Someone who works in a grocery store told me that people will buy expensive food like filet and lobster with their EBT food stamp cards and then return the food to get cash for it, then the store has to throw it away because the can't resell it. The we end up paying more for the stores loss !
Well, I don't agree on the returning of things, but there was a day when my non driving grandmother had to had food and my mom would drive here to the store, then there became a time my grandmother was unable to go to the store with her so my mom took her (then stamps) and bought her groceries. Yes she drove a nice car and she would also buy her own food while she was there and of course pay cash. Wonder what people thought of her? not sure, but I can assure you SHE DID NOT CARE, she was doing the right thing and I am sure many other do to. People complain all the time about the person in front of the paying with an EBT and then getting into there BMW, know the whole story before you judge
I agree with Anonymous!! Dont judge the person using the EBT card just because they buy beer, cigs, drive off in a nice car, etc... I also use EBT!! I also pick up beer & cigs for my neighbor that gives me cash to pay for it.. I also use her pretty car that happens to be a 2011 model and believe it or not, I buy some good smelling soap to wash my rear end with and yep...I pay cash for that too! Also, I may be using EBT until I can get back on track...for reasons thats NONE of your business but just because I am using EBT, it dont mean that Im nasty, completely broke, and can't pay cash for the same things you may buy yourself! In other words...get a life!! Worry about YOUR life!! Stop trying to analyze lives that dont matter to you!!
